Scarifying is a very important part of keeping your lawn in good condition. I often think of scarifying is a bit like the feeling we have on a very hot humid day when the air is heavy and it feels like we can’t breathe properly! Your lawn is exactly the same, if it is choked by Moss, dead grass and thatch it will not be able to grow properly and not healthy. When thatch gets too thick it stops water and nutrients reaching the roots of the grass.
